Dignity
Every resident deserves to be treated as a whole person worthy of respect, compassion and humane care.
Justice & Change for Victims of Nursing Facilities was created to raise awareness, support families and advocate for the dignity of people living in nursing facilities.
Since 2020, our work has centered on people—residents who deserve dignity, families searching for answers, and communities willing to stand with them.
Justice & Change was founded by Tracey Pompey with a commitment to making sure concerns surrounding nursing-facility residents are not simply overlooked.
Since 2020, Justice & Change has worked to raise awareness concerning abuse and neglect of nursing-facility residents and to help families connect with information and support.
The organization has grown into a community-centered mission that brings together advocacy, family support, education, volunteerism and direct acts of care for nursing-facility residents.
At the center of the work is the belief that needing long-term care should never mean losing your dignity, your humanity or your voice.
Justice & Change for Victims of Nursing Facilities works to raise awareness concerning abuse and neglect of nursing-facility residents and to build family support through connections, information, advocacy and community engagement.
Our work begins with seeing nursing-facility residents as people first and recognizing the important role families and communities play in protecting dignity.
Every resident deserves to be treated as a whole person worthy of respect, compassion and humane care.
Residents and families deserve to be heard when they ask questions, share experiences or raise concerns about care.
Families are better prepared to advocate when they have access to understandable information and know where to look for appropriate resources.
Nursing-facility residents remain members of our communities and deserve to feel seen, valued and remembered.
Concerns about resident care deserve attention, appropriate questions and responsible follow-through.
Advocacy is not only about speaking up. It is also about showing up with care for residents and the families who love them.
Justice & Change has continued to grow beyond awareness alone.
The mission now brings together families, residents, volunteers, supporters and community partners through advocacy, education, resident-centered programs and opportunities for people to become involved.
As the organization continues to grow, the goal remains centered on the same people who inspired the work: nursing-facility residents and the families who care about what happens to them.
People living in nursing facilities who deserve dignity, respect, compassion and a voice.
Loved ones trying to understand what is happening, ask appropriate questions and advocate for someone they care about.
Volunteers, donors, businesses, churches and organizations willing to help make sure residents are not forgotten.
Behind every conversation about nursing-facility care is a person.
A mother. A father. A grandparent. A spouse. A sibling. A neighbor. A friend.
Justice & Change works to help keep their humanity, dignity and experiences at the center of the conversation.
They are not forgotten.
